Coaching Inn keeps lead in Summer League

Big wins for Coaching Inn and Tregony yesterday, Sunday 22 July, mean that the two clubs keep their first and second places in the Cornwall Summer League table.

In the first of the two round 4 fixtures, Coaching Inn's Dion Beechey, Roy Pemberton and Rob Sullivan were away at Vogue PC (Star Inn, St Day) and came home with a 3-0 win from the three timed games.

They took the first of these 13-7 against Vogue's Barbara Brown, Lena Daddow and Drew Jarvis. Game 2 was closer, with Paul Lumley stepping in instead of Drew for Vogue and a result of 11-9. The final game was closer still, with Lena, Paul and Drew taking it to 11-10.

Tregony was at home to North Inn and also took a 3-0 win. In the first game North Inn's Colin 'Boot' Booth, Sue Hardy and Mark Hypponen went down 13-0 to the home team of Graeme Kirkham, Pete Lynas and Paul Rundle. In the second Susan Williamson stepped in for Pete with Tregony taking a 13-7 win. Game 3 went to Graeme, Pete and Susan 13-4.

Big thanks to Tregony Sports Club for hospitality, including Jo Foster's very fine chicken curry - just right for a blazing hot day!!

These results give Coaching Inn a tally of ten wins from the four rounds played, with a points difference of +32. Tregony is hot on their heels with nine wins and +55.

Vogue currently has four wins (-13) and North Inn PC one (-74).

The two final rounds of the League, to be played before the end of September, will see Tregony at home to Vogue and Coaching Inn, and North Inn at home to Coaching Inn and away to Vogue.
