Paul's second Singles title - after a ten year wait!

The new Kernow Singles champion is Paul Rundle of Tregony PC; he last won the title in 2008.

Paul took the trophy with a 13-12 win in the final against Andrew Jarvis of Vogue PC, following another narrow win 13-11 against Andy Rose of Rising Sun PC. In the other semi-final Andrew beat Colin 'Boot' Booth of North Inn PC 13-7

Winner of the plate competition was another Tregony player, Graeme Kirkham, after a close game (13-10) against Rob Sullivan of Coaching Inn PC. In the semi-finals Rob beat Bill Kingdon (North Inn) 13-0 and Graeme took his game against Roy Pemberton (Coaching Inn) 13-8.

Top-scoring woman player of the day was Lena Daddow (Vogue),

Twelve players took part, all playing on the newly-laid surfacing to the Vogue terrain for the first time. The weather forecast had threatened rain and thunderstorms but in the event there were only a couple of light showers and plenty of sunny periods.

The next regional competition will be the Kernow Triples on Sunday 26 August: Kernow members please contact Andrew and let him know that you will be taking part: the event needs a minimum of six entries.
