Petanque in the Park

Four teams turned out today (Sunday 17 February) for round 3 of the winter boules doubles series, which took place in Boscawen Park, Truro,

The surface on the rarely played Park terrain varied between rocky and sandy with a liberal spread of pine needles and twigs, occasional spots veering towards spongy and some where you would swear there's a trampoline buried just beneath the surface. Different and challenging.

Two teams had two wins, with Pete and Mark just taking the top spot with a +12 points difference from Boot and Graeme on +11.

Ray and Emmanuelle had 1 win and -9 and Andy and Tim on 1 win and -14.

The final round of the winter boules safari will take place on 17 March: green jacks only for St Patrick's Day!

Don't forget: the Kernow Petanque AGM takes place on 3 March at the Star Inn, St Day, and will follow a doubles contest: more details soon.
