Summer league win for Coaching Inn

St Columb Major's Coaching Inn petanque players won their home match against Tregony PC by two games to one on Sunday 10 September.

Playing on their nicely undulating but very smooth home piste, Coaching Inn started well. Roy Pemberton, Dion Beechey and Rob Sullivan took a 9-2 lead against Tregony's Pete Lynas, Paul Rundle and Graeme Kirkham. The visitors made a comeback, however, and eventually took the game 13-12.

In the second game Roy, Dion and Rob played Tregony's Susan Williamson and Tony and Di Smith, winning 13-9.

In the decider Tim Coad stepped in for Rob to play Susan, Pete and Graeme, with Coaching Inn winning 13-8 to take the match.

More games to be played in the near future: it's getting tight!
