Summer league win for Tregony

Tregony took a 2-1 win from their away match at the Coaching Inn, St Columb Major, on Sunday 17 June. Despite this, at the halfway point in the Cornwall summer league, Coaching Inn hang on to a narrow lead in the competition.

With the St Columb weather set to a fine drizzle, Tregony's Paul Rundle, Pete Lynas and Graeme Kirkham took the first of the three timed games 9-6 against Coaching Inn's Dion Beechey, Roy Pemberton and Rob Sullivan.

The hosts came back to take the second game 7-6 against Paul, Graeme and Susan Williamson, stepping in for Pete.

Tregony started slowly in the final game, with the score at 5-0 to Coaching Inn before the visitors scored their first point. Pete, Susan and Graeme then came back strongly and took the final score to 11-5 for an overall 2-1 win and a +8 points difference from the three games.

Half way through the summer league schedule, with all teams having played each other once, Coaching Inn are on seven wins and an overall points difference of +23, Tregony has six wins with +27, Vogue (St Day) four (-4) and North Inn (Pendeen) one (-46).

Round 4 of the competition will be played during July and will see Vogue at home to Coaching Inn and Tregony hosting North Inn.
